*squeak*

Dear xxxx

I didn't have time to say on Monday that your student was very
impressive. Lots of good stuff in the thesis, and when we did give her
tough questions (like the scintillator that emitted Cherenkov
radiation) she responded in a very positive and physicist-like way. I
was sorry George took the Graduate School instructions about not
informing the candidate at their face value: she deserved to be told
on the spot that she'd passed with flying colours.

Best wishes

yyyy

Thanks all.

It is indeed fantastic to hear oneself described as [chosen-field]-like.

It is as if I am a policeman after all, even if I find that hard to believe or trust.

Wow, that's so brilliant, Kepp! See, you're awesome! We knew it, naturally, but isn't it nice to be complimented by someone like that?

Congratulations again. *grin* If you don't mind, I'll just be over here being enormously proud of you.

Go you! That's a wonderful compliment, and I like that you deserved to be told on the spot.

I'll be over here with em being proud of you.

I'm not really sure that you need any more ego boosts, you know. But here, have one anyway.

Yes, you rock. Or rule. Whichever you prefer.
